MY VISIT

Liberty Bell - March 30, 2018
Capitol Building - March 19, 2022

After a long travel day, we got to Raleigh and stretched our legs on the North Carolina State University campus. It was huge! So many brick buildings. We finally settled in the very nice hotel. The next day, we met up with Grandpa and Grandpa and headed to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. That place is wild—giant dinosaur skeletons, glowing rocks, and even a live animal room.

After that, we walked over to the Liberty Bell replica nearby. It wasn’t easy to find, but it felt like a mini treasure hunt. I got to ring the clapper!

We drove over to the mountains and went to the highest point on the Appalachian Trail and saw some amazing views. We visited the Oconaluftee Visitor Center in Cherokee, NC. We learned about mountain life.

Fast forward a few years, and we were back in North Carolina. This time we explored Cary and Raleigh again. We visited the North Carolina State Capitol and it looked like something out of a history book—columns, statues, and a dome.

One day we ate some amazing Italian food at Lugano Ristorante in Cary. Another day we went Los Tres Magueyes for Mexican food. Their chips and salsa were next-level.

We couldn’t resist going back to the Museum of Natural Sciences again. This time they had the “Exquisite Creatures” exhibit by Christopher Marley. It was like walking through a rainbow made of beetles, butterflies, and bones. Weird and beautiful. North Carolina is a really interesting state!
