MY VISIT

August 21, 2020

Louisiana was the first stop on our 4 days, 4 southern states mission. This was a quick stop, but there is a lot to talk about. Driving in we saw the governor’s mansion right outside the complex. It was so close, I bet the governor could walk to work every day. The whole capitol grounds was like a garden! This time I found the bell by running around aimlessly. There was something weird about the building because it didn’t  have a dome top! It kind of looked like a fancy apartment building. On our way to the Capitol Building we saw a dead cicada called a Scissors Grinder Cicada. There were crazy trees planted all over called bonsai trees. They are all twisted, and they look wild, but beautiful. There was a grave with a monument of a governor named Huey Pierce Long who was assassinated in 1935 looking at the Capitol Building. Leaving Baton Rouge we drove through the LSU campus. When Covid-19 is over I’d like to visit Louisiana again.
