MY VISIT

We made a quick overnight stop in Columbia on our way down to Florida. We didn’t do much except go see the Capitol and the Liberty Bell. The grounds for the state Capitol was a really beautiful park-like setting. The building had a dome with columns. There were guards patrolling because there are a lot of protests going on right now. Everything there was calm though. We asked the guards if they knew where the bell was but they didn’t see it. We wandered around the grounds and I found lots of walnuts. Finally, my dad spotted it around the back. It was in good shape, but didn’t have the bell ringer. We went back to the hotel and ordered Mexican food from Brother’s & Beer Restaurant in Columbia to go because there’s Covid-19 happening! It was a short but fun trip. I hope to visit other parts of South Carolina in the future.
