MY VISIT

November 6, 2025

To begin this trip, I took a late night flight into Salt Lake City, and immediately checked into the hotel I was staying at.

The next day was more exciting, as I visited both Temple Square and the Capitol building, which also housed the Liberty Bell. Temple Square was really beautiful and serene, and I got to see the Salt Lake Temple across the street (sadly, it was covered in scaffolding for refurbishments). While there, I also went to see a beautiful organ recital (it was played at the Salt Lake City Tabernacle, which is one of the largest organs in the world). Later in the day I walked over to the Capitol building, and took a tour and some photos of the Liberty Bell. The grounds were very nice, and I learned that Utah was the honeycomb state! Shortly after I ate an early dinner at Seven Brothers Burgers, and it was really good (plus the service was super fast)! To end the day, I visited the Church History Museum for a bit before walking over to the FamilySearch Library, which was a lot more fun than I expected it to be.

On Friday, I started off the morning by exploring the Clark Planetarium, which had a lot of unique and interactive exhibits (it was very busy as well). It was actually quite big, so by the time I exited, I went to get lunch at Tucano’s Brazilian Grill. It was like a buffet and a steakhouse in one– I recommend the banana frites and roasted pineapple. Finally, to see what the capitol was named after, I took a tour to the Great Salt Lake (which is not so great anymore), and went onto Antelope Island State Park. I got to see a lot of wild bison, and the sunset was really pretty!

I began my third and last full day in Utah by going to the Museum of Illusions, which I enjoyed a lot. I just think that optical illusions are cool in general (I also got an awesome sweatshirt). I had a city tour coming up, but still had an hour to kill, so I went to get some food at a German bakery. I ordered a pretzel (they ended up giving me a bunch for free which was really nice) and a pumpkin Croi-liner, which is a hybrid pastry between a croissant and a German Berliner doughnut invented by Vosen’s Bread Paradise in Salt Lake City! Finally, it was time for the tour, so I got on a bus and learned some really interesting facts about the city. We also stopped and drove through multiple locations, such as This is the Place (a park about Utah’s history), the University of Utah, and the Cathedral of the Madeleine (a Catholic Church with bits modeled after Notre Dame in Paris). After the tour was over, I ate dinner at Nutritious Bowl, which probably had one of my favorite food items of the whole trip (a chicken tikka masala wrap).

The next morning I flew home early… or at least tried to. I got caught in Chicago overnight and finally got home on Monday. Bye, Utah!
