I began this trip driving from Springfield, Illinois to Madison, Wisconsin, the capital. It sits in between Lake Monona and Lake Michigan. There, I visited the capitol building, which also contained the Liberty Bell. After walking in (there was surprisingly, no security), the Liberty Bell was directly to the right of the entrance. I took a few photos and walked around the building a little bit more. It was very nice, and since it was Easter, there were no tours available. I tried to check into my hotel, but my room wasn’t ready yet. So, I decided to go to the Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Sadly, there weren’t many plants since it was so cold, and only a few were beginning to pop up (daffodils, violets, etc…). It was really nice to hear and see all of the birds and other animals though! Once my room was ready, I checked in, relaxed, ate leftover pizza for dinner and went to bed.
The next morning I ate breakfast and went back to the capitol building, where I took a tour. It was probably one of the best ever, and it was really interesting! There was lots of marble and badgers everywhere (state animal)! After the tour, I packed up and drove to Green Bay, Wisconsin. I ate lunch at Macs, which is a mac and cheese restaurant. It was okay, but I probably wouldn’t go again. Then I visited Lambeau Stadium, home of the Green Bay Packers, and took another tour! We got to see the luxury seats (a.k.a. where the celebrities sit during a football game) and walk out the tunnel. Afterwards, I ate at Stadium View (I got tacos, they were okay), checked into my hotel and slept.
On my last day, not much time was spent there since I was on my way to Chicago. On my way to Illinois, I stopped at Culver’s and ate a butter burger and cheese curds (which were really good!). That was the end of our trip!
